The inauguration of the UAE’s first net positive mosque

On 8 November 2024, Tilal Al Ghaf DISTRIKT marked a historic moment with the inauguration of the Majid Al Futtaim Mosque, the UAE’s first net positive mosque and the first mosque developed by Majid Al Futtaim. The opening was dedicated to the memory of the late Mr. Majid Al Futtaim, whose vision of “GREAT MOMENTS FOR EVERYONE, EVERYDAY” continues to guide us.
The event brought together key leaders and dignitaries, including H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, General Manager of Dubai’s Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, and Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding. Their presence highlighted the mosque’s importance as a landmark of faith, sustainability, and innovation.
The inauguration included speeches, a plaque unveiling, guided tours, and moments in the majlis, marking an occasion where faith, community, and sustainability came together. The Majid Al Futtaim Mosque stands as a symbol of innovation, setting an example for environmentally mindful places of worship in the region.
