On 1 July 2024, DISTRIKT hosted Dreamscapes: Envisioning the Future of Dubai with AI, a first-of-its-kind art initiative in partnership with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and the American University in Dubai.

More than 150 students took part in the competition, using AI tools to imagine what Dubai could look like in the decades ahead. The top entries, by Abbas AlObaidi, Ahmed Al Salman, and Kareem Eid, were revealed during a special ceremony at DISTRIKT, attended by cultural leaders, industry figures, and fellow students.

Today, the winning designs can be seen along the road to DISTRIKT, transforming the hoardings into an open-air gallery of future Dubai. Families, residents, and visitors explored the space, met the young creators, and saw first-hand how technology is shaping the next chapter of design and architecture.
